F. Models of Good Practice
- Early Excellence Centres began with the DfEE inviting collaboration by local authorities (August 8, 1997) on a pilot project to develop 25 demonstration centres of good practice and excellence. By the end of December, 1999, twenty-nine Early Excellence Centres were approved, four more than the target.
- Quality Protects is a three year programme begun in September, 1998 to ensure the effectiveness and good management of social services for children by local authorities based on a set of national objectives. The four Quality Protect regions are—London, South, Central and North.
