Development of the Foundation Stage of Development for children from 3 years to the end of reception (approximately 6 years of age). The inclusion of this stage indicates that children should pass through definite stepping stones as indicated in the Early Learning Goals before beginning the National Curriculum Key Stages of Primary School.
